God is wise preach
Last Sunday I had the privilege of preaching on God's wisdom, as part of Brickhill's series 'Like Him? Exploring the character of God and how to live.'
I preached from 1 Corinthians 1:17-2:7, exploring how God's wisdom is fundamentally antithetical to the world's (though I didn't use that word), and then looked at a couple of ways in which God gives us His wisdom. One point I didn't make but might worth be mentioning: when I say that God's wisdom renders the world's wisdom (desires for signs or knowledge) irrelevant, I do not mean that we shouldn't pray for miracles or engage with the cultures around us; the apostle Paul clearly did both (Acts 28:1-10 and 17:16-34, respectively) whilst believing that it is the gospel that saves.
Should you wish to listen, the preach is available to download here.
